Wolverine Spring Playoff Update

Below is the updated information for our high school teams post season play.
- Baseball – Our Baseball team finished second in league and earned a trip to the district playoff last Thursday at Skagit Valley College. They faced the Orcas Vikings with the winner advancing to the championship game and also earning a state playoff berth. Unfortunately, the Wolverines fell short, losing 5-3, just missing a state playoff appearance.
- Girls Tennis – The girls played in the Bi-District tournament last Wednesday at the Amy Yee Tennis Center in Seattle. Our doubles team, consisting of Norah and Hazel Leighton, finished second in the tournament. With the second-place finish, the girls qualified for the state tournament in Yakima starting on Friday, 5/22.
- Boys and Girls Golf – Our boys and girls golf teams competed this past week at their district tournaments. On the boys' side, Jack Hess finished in second place and earned a trip to the state tournament in Spokane. Representing the girls, James Hollingsworth also finished in second place and will be traveling with Jack to Spokane for the state tournament.
- Boys and Girls Track – Our track teams competed at the District Meet on Saturday, 5/16, with 14 athletes qualifying for the state tournament in Yakima starting on Thursday, 5/28. You can view all the information on the WIAA website here.
- Fastpitch – Our Girls Fastpitch team finished second in league and earned a trip to the district playoff last Thursday at Skagit Valley College. They faced the Orcas Vikings with the winner advancing to the championship game and also earning a state playoff berth. The Wolverines pounded Orcas 15-5 and, with that victory, advanced to the state tournament in Yakima. The girls will face the #1 seed, Freeman, in the first round of the state playoffs on Friday, 5/22, at 11 am. The softball bracket is posted here.
